CURRINSVILLE, May 9—(Spe­
cial).—Currinsville school entertain­
ment Friday evening, May 10, which
is free to everyone. There will be a
pie social after the entertainment.
Ladies are asked to bring pies and
men to bring dimes. Everyone in­
vited.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Shankland
of Portland were visiting the Lester
Hale family last week end.
The Currinsville Ladies Aid met
with Mrs. Walter Looney May 1.
Their next meeting is to be with
Mrs. D. E. McConnell.
G. C. Heiple caught some real fine
fish at the falls Saturday.
Mrs. E. J. Tompkins is better and
has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Sarver and A.
W. Sarver of Portland were calling
on their friends at the Currinsville
store Sunday.
Mrs. Walter Looney stepped on a
nail last week and has had to go on
crutches for a few days and is
finding walking very difficult.
Miss Ethel Hale spent the week end
with her mother and attended the
Ladies Aid supper at the Currinsville
store.
Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Wade and
Merle and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wade
and children of Estacada visited Mrs.
C. A. Looney and Lawrence at The
Dalles Sunday. They found both
well and anxious to return home first
of June. Lawrence’s health has im­
proved wonderfully since going there.
Returning, the Wade families crossed
the river at Hood River and fallowed
the North Bank highway to the
Bridge of the Gods, crossing it and
returning home in the evening. All
report a wonderful trip and a few
moments that were really exciting in
making one of the short curves near
Carson, Wash., they almost ran into
a deer on the road. They made the
trip in a new Ford and think it is a
wonderful auto.
The Currinsville store truck made
a trip to the North Portland stock
yards Tuesday, taking some hogs in
and bringing back fertilizer.
It’s Tuesday! It’s a wonderful
day; the sun is shining, the day seems
perfect. If the farmer could only get
on his ground to finish seeding!
It is reported that Mrs. W. T.
Looney can walk again.
The Ladies Aid Tamale supper at
Tunnell’s hall was a decided success
financially and they wish to express
their appreciation to everyone for
their part in making it so.
