Clyde Shock went to Portland Wednesday to bring out an eight tube super hetrodyne radio set. George Workman o f Vancouver, Washington, spent New Year’s at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Wilcox. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Githens and son were visiting at the H. H. Car ling home in Currinsville last Sun day. Mrs. Bob Cooke, who has been confined to the Good Samaritan hos pital in Portland, is reported to be improving. Hill, who is attending the University of Oregon, spent the holi days visiting at the home o f Miss Wallace in Estacada. CH EVR O LET NEW S A new Chevrolet— more beautiful in body lines, more roomy and com fortable, with a host o f new me chanical and body features— has been announced this week by the Chevrolet Motor Company. The new cars come in five body types, the Touring, Roadster, Coach, Coupe, and Sedan, and are being shown fo r the first time at the New York show. There is hardly a feature o f the Chevrolet that is not new, im proved or re-designed, while most o f these features are o f the type and quality characteristic o f high er-priced cars. The following outstanding feat ures are to be found on these new cars. All models have full stream-line bodies, refinements in design which make them the most beautiful cars Chevrolet has ever produced. New clutch o f the dry plate disc type, completely enclosed with fly wheel. New axles— rear axle is entirely o f banjo type construction and with one-piece pressed steel housing. New springs o f the semi-elliptical type, longer and easier riding. New and heavier channel steel frame 38 inches longer, with five sturdy cross member*. New improvements in the already famous Chevrolet motor, such as heavier crankshaft with larger con necting rod bearings, longer and larger center main bearings, shorter intake manifold bringing the car buretor closer to the cylinders in suring better carburetion and easier starting; rocker arms and valves completely enclosed. New Harrison radiator shell of highly polished, non-rusting air plane metal. All bodies finished in Duco, in beautiful colors. All open models have re-designed windshields, with very large upper panel to permit unobstructed vis ion. All closed bodies equipped with V one-piece windshield and automatic windshield wiper. All closed bodies built by Fisher.. New bodies roomier. New instrument board, with more convenient and beautiful grouping o f instruments. While the new Harrison radiator remains the same in size and ca pacity, the material and appearance o f the shell has been radically chang ed. In place o f the form er enameled steel shell, the new radiator shell is made o f airplane metal, which is non rusting because o f the compo sition o f the material used, and has all the beauty o f nickel. The clutch has been changed from a cone type to a perfected single plate, dry disc clutch, which re quires no lubrication. This new type makes fo r easier operation, smoother engagement, more posi tive drive and longer life. The rear axle is entirely new. In this construction, the difffferen- tial complete with the ring gear and pinion are mounted as an integral part o f the third member in what is known as the differential carrier.
