Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kandle are occupying Mrs. Mikulecky’s house. The editor and his wife spent Sunday in Oregon City and Sell- wood. Mrs. F. G. Robley and son Grant visited the Rose city last Saturday. Misses Thelma and Dorothy • Eschleman were here from Sa lem last Saturday night. Mrs. C. J. Pimm attended the eighth grade graduation exer cises at; Gladstone Park Friday. J. P. YVoodleis home again af ter working two or three weeks on a house in Upper Eagle Creek C. L. Coonrad is in a Portland sanatorium where he is being treated for a sciatic rheumatism. Mine Host Hauser of the Es- tacada hotel and John Dunseath are at Fern Camp on a short outing. The Rev. J. F. Dunlop and family drove to Portland this morning to take in the Rose Fes tival. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. McKenney and children, with Mrs. Mary E. McWillis, spent the week-end in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Herman left for their home in Portland Sunday, after *a week’ s visit with Estacada relatives. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Van Duzer and James Van Duzer, o f Port land, spent Sunday with their sister, Mrs. R. Morse. A stool o f rye measuring six and a half feet, is on exhibition in the window of S. E. Wooster’s office. It was grown by R. G. Palmateer, of Garfield. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Stephens attended the bankers’ conven tion which met at Seaside, Fri day and Saturday, last week. The N e w s building is resplen dent in its new coat of paint, the work being done by its proprie tor George Pointer, who also painted the N e w s ’ sign on the upper east end of the building. Representing The Progressive Mrs. Theodore Ahlberg was hostess to about a dozen ladies Monday afternoon. Mrs. F. J. Harkenrider arrived last week with her household goods, and the family have mov ed into their residence formerly occupied by F. E. Burns. A. C.
