Mrs. R. Morse was in Portland a day or two last week. The editor and his wife we it to Portland Saturday on a little business. Ruth Hewitt, of Portland.spent the week end with her cousin, Helen Wooster. W. L. Smith at Springwater, Ore., has been suffering from an ( attack of the lagrippe. Harold Woosts and family are moving in their new house on their farm in Garfield. Dr. and Mrs. Hewitt, of Port land, are spending a few days at their farm in Garfield. Mrs. A, K. Morton and her sister, Miss Florence Kendall, have gone to the mountains for a vacation and outing. Mrs. C. J. Pimm went to Cor vallis Saturday, where she will take part in a family reunion at the home of her parents. Helen Wooster has been very ill_ the past week with appendi citis, but is improving under the n r treatment of Dr. McCall. Raymond Lovelace had the misfortune to run a.pickeroon in his knee last Saturday, while working at the mill over at Clfcar creek. Mrs. F. J. C o v e r t went to Gladstone last Tuesday noon to attend the Chautauqua and re- m; i 1 until its close. Mr. Covert was left alone in his glory, to practice cooking his own meals. F. E. Burns is having a visit from his nephew, Ivan W. Burns and wife, who is a station agent at Lansing, Michigan. They ar rived Monday, and are planning to go with the Burns' family next week to one of the coast resorts, Cojumbia Beach, near Gearhart. EASTERN CLACKAMAS NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ewing of Chehalis, Wash., arrived last Saturday for a visit of a few days here with friends, but their stay was cut short as Tuesday Mr. Ewing was called back, and Mis. Ewing started a day or two later. They have adopted a baby boy who is seventeen months old, named Robert. Mr. and Mrs. John G. Page and daughter, Minerva, returmd last Thursday from Wil’ards Springs, where they had hr en staying for about three weeks. Mr. Page says that the water was fine and he would drink sev eral glasses before breakfast as a good starter for the day. An enormous crowd came up from the city on the Fourth. B. E. Byers arrived lastThuis- day from the Da’les, leaving the following day. He is moving to Washougal, Wash., where he will go into the hardware business. He says our former townsman. L. A. Chapman, has sold out his undertaking bus i ne s s at the Dalles, but has not decided yet where he will go. While here Mr. Byers was the guest of C. F. Howe. Messrs. C. A. Fleming and T. A.
