Thursday, September 18, 1919 LOCAL BREVITIES AND NEWS ITEMS Mrs. A. E. Sparks visited the metropolis Friday. Mrs. Bessie Douglass was a Portland visitor Tuesday. W. E. Linn spent a couple of days in Portland, last week. Mrs, A. K Morton went to Portland for the day last Friday. D. B. Bass and family went to Portland Sunday, returning Mon day afternoon. Miss Wava Herring will teach at Cherryville, her school com mencing next Monday. After a visit of several days in Portland, Mrs. James Norris returned home Sunday evening. Miss Bessie Wallace went to Portland last Sunday to visit friends, returning Monday eve ning. Mrs. Eda Woods of Newberg, Ore., was a guest at the home of her sister, Mrs. James Smith, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Rax- worthy of Portland, who have been stopping at the hotel the last two weeks, returned to their home Monday. Mr. Rax worthy is the gentleman who went about in a wheeled chair.
