This consisted of the sale of an 101 >4 acre farm known as the Stokes farm, to William Salzvedel of Heppner in the eastern part of the state. The consideration was $12,000. The new owner will move with his family on to the place within the next ten days. Mr. Wooster informs us that he has another important deal pending and that he has received several letters of inquiry con cerning real estate in this vicin ity. This is very encouraging and indicates a revival in busi ness and the herald of a coming prosperous new year.- AID GAS HEROES. On. the roof of the Pavilion Belle vue, near St. Cloud, is a most Interest ing hospital for soldiers who have been ‘•gassed.” The Pavilion Bellevue Is the former home of Isadora Duncan and Is In charge of the American Red Cross. Lieut. Wilfred II. Day of Nlagnm Falls. N. Y., Is In charge of this hos pital, which treats only those who have been gassed, and Is the first hospital of its kind to be established. Lleutennnt Day has visited every country that was in the war, except Bulgaria und Turkey, and has worked In each one. During a recent visit to Worcester, England, he was received by the Lord Mayor and honored because o f Ids work, and the Queen of Rouninrdn con ferred honor upon him. commending him for his work amo^g the wounded and destitute of her country. f b
