FINCH Estacada Oregon Springwater News Items Contributed Special meetings will be held at The Springwater Church, be ginning February 3rd. Rev. H. G. Hanson, pastor of the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Portland will be the speaker. All are in vited to profit by these services. A delightful evening was spent last Saturday, when Mr. and Mrs. Earle Skeen were hosts at a danc ing party. The affair was in honor of Mrs. U. V. Dorais, (nee Grace Seaquest). During the supper hour, Leslie Blair enter tained with stories. About thir ty guests were present, the out- of-town guests being Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Blair of Portland, house-guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Seaquest. Mr. and Mrs. John Closner of Garfield and Mrs. H. Weller of Portland spent Sunday at the Ed Closner home. Mrs. Grace Dorais and Mrs. E. Jones of Portland are visiting at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Seaquest. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Shibley and daughter spent a couple of days visiting relatives and friends in Portland and Oregon City. M. H. Maher, having rented his place to Portland parties, is this week moving to Portland, where with his family he will re side. Locals from Lower Eagle Creek Contributed G. B. Kleppy and family have left the Eagle Creek district and moved to their home at Seaside, Oregon. Miss Grace Cahill is in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland, having recently undergone a serious operation. Last reports were that she was progressing favorably. Her mother is with her at the hospital. Earl Shibley of Springwater has been building a fire-place for C. H. Paddison in his new home. Mrs. Sam Barr of Estacada was a home visitor with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Ca hill over Sunday. Mrs. W. Domm, who lives near the Eagle Creek Falls, was a vis itor in this neighborhood recent ly. C. Hi Paddison has purchased a Vaughn drag-saw outfit this week from W. F. Cary of the Cazadero Mercantile Co. Miss Caroline Wiederhold of Bissel, who is taking the nurses’ training course at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Vancouver, is report ed to be very ili, having been taken to St. Vincent’s in Portland. Mrs Wilbur Wade and daughter Echo of Currinsville and Mrs. Chas. Duncan of Garfield left last week for Morgan, Oregon, where they are visiting among relatives. Dover Doings Contributed Charles Me Pherson of Port land, who eleven years ago was pastor here and aft Estacada. where he resided, was in Dover Monday representing an eastern life insurance company. R. C. Frace, who has been working in the shipyards at Port land spent a few days last week with his family in Dover. ' W. P. Roberts is building a garage on his ranch. A number of the Dover and Fir wood farmers co-operated in the buying of a carload of feed recently. The Dover stockholders of the Mountain Meadows Co-operative Creamery attended the annual meeting on Tuesday. Hugh Devlin is erecting a wood-house, replacing the one that was burned.
