German Aliens Should Register With Postmaster By Proclamation of the Presi- d* nt of the United States, p i German aliens are notified that ail natives citizens, denizens, or subjects of the German Empire o>* Imperial German Government, being males o f the age of four teen years and upwards on regis tration day, who are within the United States and no actually nat iralized as Anerhan citizens, are required to register a- alien enemies. The dates of the i egistration in Oregon have b e e n fixed from 6:00 A.M. February 4th to 8: 00 P. M. February 9th, 1918. All aliens subject to registra tion may do so at the office of the p )stmaster, at the postoffice serv ing their home territory. Persons required to register should understand that in so do ing they are giving proof of their peaceful dispositions and their intention to conform to the laws o f the U. S. Each registrant is required to furnish four unmounted photo graphs of himself, also to place his signature, and finger prints on record etc; full instructions for which may be obtained from the registration officer. George Goings On Contributed The George Telephone line is now being built, with large cedar poles being installed. The annual meeting of the George Social and Commercial Club will occur at the club house next Saturday evening, the 26th. The Misses Flora Lins and Irene Paulsen have gone to Port land, where they will spend a few months. Roy Maxwell and Ray Chainey o f Portland were Sunday guests at the G. W. Terwillinger home. Miss Gladys Joyner, who has been visiting in Portland for a week, returned home Tuesday. Several of the George young folks attended the dance at the Garfield Country Club Saturday evening Fred and Carl Lins attended * the patriotic meeting in Oregon City Sunday. Mrs. Theo. Hardere, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. Robt. Snyder o f Garfield for a few days, returned Sunday. Miss Edith Buckhalls of Port land, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. H. Hall * Family Pill* for constipation. Bank Holds Annual Meeting The annual meeting of the Estacada State Bank was held Tuesday, with both the stock holders’ and directors’ meetings taking place. The stockholders elected the same directors for 1918 as were in office, with the directors re-electing the same officers, with the addition of H. C. Stephens as a vice president. The directors being Leroy D. Walker, L. A. Brandes and F. F. Brandes of Portland. Thos. Yo cum, and H. C. Stephens o f Es tacada. The officers being Mr. Walker, president; Messrs. Y o cum and Stephens, vice-presi dents and H. C. Lasswell, cash ier. The stockholders were well satisfied with the growth o f the bank during the past year and look for a continuance during the coming season. Park Will Continue Business * Because o f the many requests from our patrons wfe have decided to continue handling dry goods and notions but will greatly Increase our stocks. The management o f the store will be in the hands of Mrs. J. M. Park and Mrs. W. E. Closner after Feb. 1st. We will therefore sell for cash after that date. We began our sale with the full intentions o f selling out completely and discontinuing the business, and only continued at the request o f so many patrons. Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Estacada s genius in metal crafts, now stationed at Camp Lewis, spent the week-end at his home. Sam presented “ ye editor’ ’ with a useful, ornamental and novel pen-and-pencil-holder, being wrought from a steel horse shoe. This souvenir will always remain a prized memento and will occupy the place of honor in the sanctum-sanctorum, (what ever that is). Friday evening, February 1st is the date set for the C. I. C. Library entertainment, to be giv en at the Estacada school audi torium.
