Mr. Jorg says “ I have parties considering the purchase o f my business here and while it is like ly the deal will go through, no definite announcement can be made now.” If Mr. Jorg moves to Portland, he will accept a high salaried po sition as a saddle maker, at which trade he is an adept o f many years training, prior to locating at Estacada. This city and community will be the loser in the event of the removal of Mr. Jorg and family, for he has always taken an un usual interest in the city and community development, being a bountiful contributor to all causes and having served and is now serving in several public olfices^ among them being a member of the city council, a member of the school board and an officer of the volunteer fire department. While Mrs. Jorg has always taken a more than active interest in school, club, church and other community work. a White Bear Soap .05 C. I. C. Discuss Timely Topics Citrus .25 In keeping with the tendency towards conservation and econo my, the ladies of the Civic Im provement Club are now holding instructive meetings at regular intervals, with certain members appointed to handle specified sub jects for discussion. A. short tune ago, Mrs. Walter Givens led the meeting, the ex act title of her subject being for gotten, but it was substantially “ How To Cut Down Waiter's Pants To Fit Denny.” On Tuesuay of this week Mrs. R. M. Standish presided with the subject assigned being ” The Family Budget” . If th# subject at hand referred to “ How To Keep Nourishment In and Rai ment On the Husband and Kids On A Few Dollars A Month” , ye editor’s wife was ably qualified for the leadership. Her subject dealt largely with the financing and manufacture of five different kinds o f hash from one left-over steak—how to make nourishing soup from rem n a n ts -h o w . to camouflage a cheese-rind, to look like a jelly tart, etc. And yet leave enough for the family dog. The family budget, as explained by the lead er, was like many road and coun ty budgets, being subject to ac ceptance or rejection and all de pending on the amount o f tax or subscription moneys received. “ Your Satisfaction is Our Success” East Clackamas Supply Co.
