Park & Closner Broadway at 2nd - Estacada, Oregon How You Can Help Busy Mill Near Town Contributed Recently a lady said: “ 1 am not a member of the Civic Club, but I get books from the library regularly and I wish I knew of some way to show my apprecia tion of it and the rest-room.” There are three ways in which one may help this excellent cause. First, by joining the club — The C. I. C., as its name signifies, is a public organization which any women in town or vicinity is eli gible to join, upon payment of twenty-five cents and the regular dues. Second, by subscription — The library is supported by the efforts of the thirty-two ladies constitut ing the club, and the voluntary contribution of its friends. Re cently the Priscillas of Currins- ville have generously given five dollars to the librtry fund. Any pers in or organization may con tribute any amount at any time, and the gift will be greatly ap preciated. Third, by savin? a good word for the organization whenever it is mentioned. Since its organi zation in 1912, the club has ex pended for lights, library and other civic improvements $1599. 81. When one considers that the regular current expenses are $25.00 a month, and that this amount must be met regularly summer and winter, he or she can understand more fully the work and worry that such respon sibility enlarls. The library is being constantly increased, the most recent ac quisitions being a thirty-volume edition of Dumas’ works, four Alcott books and a biography of Thomas A. Edison which reads like a romance. Supervisor Frank Millard of the Springwater road district reports the grading on the Folsom road completed and the stretch ready for an early covering of crushed rock. At present the crusher is working in the district, with re pair dressings being placed on various parts of the main road. Why not carry a good time piece?
