E MAUPIN TIME Devoted to the Interests of Southern Wasco County VOLX. MAUPIN, SOUTHERN WASCO COUNTY, OREGON. THURSDAY. DECEMBER 20, 1923 NO. 11 I WMninug Remodeling Needed A third teacher, to take charge of the fourth and fifth grades of the Maupin schools in now assur ed local patrons. This change is to begin immediately after the holidays, the back room of the public school building to be again equipped with school fur niture for the purpose. This back room is. the old original school building of Mau pin and is not built after practi cal nor modern methods of light ing school rooms, but having three windows on each side throwing a cross light on the desks of both pupils and teacher This can be remedied with practi cally very little time and expense by moving the windows from one side to the end of the build ing which would then entitle the room to that item of standardiza tion, which as long as it remains of the architecture debars the entire school from credit of standardization. A fresh coat of interior paint would also improve the comfort of the room, and give teacher and pupils a feeling that they are not cast away into the "back room". W. P. Strandborg of the Ore gon Utility Information Bureau, Portland was a local caller last Friday. A card party will-be given by the Legion members at the I 0. 0. F. Hall tonight.
