Re ports of the test have Just been re ceived by the Ford Motor company. The Y ord motor was kept running for. a period of six days and during virtually all of that time the car was en route ovr the Alpine Dasses. a relief taking over the operation white, the driver rested. Day and night the test continued. No at temot was msde for distance oi speed, the sole object being to de termine the reliability and power of tne automoDiie. The fact that the trln was made when rouds and climate conditions in the- mountains were bad is cited further evidence of the stability of the Ford car. A strictly' standard model A Ford with Tudor body was used. Zurich was the starting point. The hood of the car was sealed of ficially by a representative of the township. Two persons occupied the car, the driver and his relief. Passing through Lucerne and the Grlmsel Pass, the car took the Furka Pass at fin altitude of 2.431 meters. then the St. Got hard Pass down the Italian lakes through all the lame Swiss towns 'nnd back to Zurich. On its return tho seals were exam ined by the official who first placed them on the hood and were found intact. In each town the car was stooned. but not the motor. The motor ran constantly from the time the car waa started in Zurich until the re turn six days later. The course Is one of the most dif ficult In Europe.
