Section Hands are Crushed in Wreck PERU. Ind., June 8. UP) Several section hands were reported to have been crushed tn death today when an east-bound Chesapeake and Ohio freight train overturned near Con verse, Ind. Ambulances were being sent to bring the dend and Injured here. First reports were that 18 men had bequ crushed by the toppling train. The section men had been repairing the track and had retired into a ditch nt the tide of the track,, while the train was passing. Judge Skipworth Back on Bench After a week'a absence at Portland where he heard cases in the Multno mah county circuit court. Judge G. F. Skipworth has returned and this njorning resumed his place on the bench here. The first case today was that of George N. McLean versus C. P. Deverenux. VP) The uprising in the northern prov inces has been crushed by the Chilean troops, and official communique an nounced. " '"Owing to the resistance of sub versives," the communique adds, "thirty of them were, killed and a number wounded. The leader of the revolt is among the dead. "Four , hundred prisoners were taken to Iquique, capital of the prov ince of Tarapaca. . The troops sus tained no casualties.
