Two Balloons are
Lost in Landing
BOULOGNE, France, June 8. (Pi
The Uritinh balloon Elsie, partici
pant In the Gordon Kennett cup race,
was destroyed in landing today when
its guide rope caught on a moving
freight train, crashing the balloon on
the tracks. The pilot was unhurt but
a passenger was slightly injured.

Spanish balloon Hespero Susana fell
in the North Hea. l'ilot De La Rocha
and Senor Lobez, a passenger, were
rescued by a passing trawler. The bal
loon was lost.

Section Hands are
Crushed in Wreck
PERU. Ind., June 8. UP) Several
section hands were reported to have
been crushed tn death today when an
east-bound Chesapeake and Ohio
freight train overturned near Con
verse, Ind.
Ambulances were being sent to
bring the dend and Injured here. First
reports were that 18 men had bequ
crushed by the toppling train.
The section men had been repairing
the track and had retired into a ditch

train was passing.

inces has been crushed by the Chilean
troops, and official communique an
nounced. "
'"Owing to the resistance of sub
versives," the communique adds,
"thirty of them were, killed and a
number wounded. The leader of the
revolt is among the dead.
"Four , hundred prisoners were
taken to Iquique, capital of the prov
ince of Tarapaca. . The troops sus
tained no casualties.
