Only an occasional stray lizard or sleepy rattlesnake witnessed the bloody battle, as the two men fought and tumbled about among the dusty sagebrush clumps and slute-like lava rock. The argument started over the dl vision of 1040 sheep which bad been owned jointly. All their differences had been settled until they earns, to the last of i lie flock a frisky little black sheep, lioih men claimed owner ship. At first they sat astride (heir j horses as the argument waxed warm. Then they decided to dismount and 1 determine who should get (he little bli:ck sheep. The Norwegian explorer, his Americun backer and their four com panions have not been heard from aitico they left Spitsbergen for the pole In two nirpuuics Thursday night. Others feared a forced landing, in jury to either the planes or men or both, or some accident in either land ing or taking off for the return, it was pointed out, however, that the expedition carried sufficient fond for a month and that at (he expiration of (hat time Ihe party should he in ter ritory where it cqund kill guuie.
