Krnest Gil strap was Maria, gentle-woman to Olivia, and her voire was lovely. To , Misi Ann Whfteaker and Mrs. Fred eric 8. Dunn are given the honors for the delightful humor of the play. .Miss Wbifaker aa Sir Tobey, alwny drunk, and uncle to Olivia, did her swagger and talk in n fine manner, and not at all exRggf rated. The poise and dignity of Mrs. Dunn as .Sir An drew Aguecheek, friend of Sir Tobey, whue, of course, humorously done, wero well done. The two kept the spectators chuckling. Mrs. Henry Tromp as Orsino, Duke of Illyt-ia. had rather a difficult role but did it per fectly, and with much pomp ar.d grnn deur. Mrs. K. It. Parks at Olivia. great lady of Illyrin, fand one of the more pleasing roles of the play and wns truly charming. Ker costume was lovely. A particularly fine scene was that between Sebastion and An tonio in act two. Mrs. O. It. Oullion as Sebastian, twin brother of Voila, has a beautiful voice and It wns a delight to heur her. Mrs. W. K. New ell made a ruvtt imposing person in the character of an officer. Hhakea peare club has never before given an affair of this sort, but the play as given was a decided success and great ly appreciated by the hundred or more invited guests. At the recent annual meeting of tho I'nitarion Womnn'i alliance offi- ers were elected as follows: Mrs. Dugnld Campbell, president; Mrs. runk rny Kddy, vice-president; Mrs. A. Klin Stearns, recording secretary; Miss Cilkison, corresponding secre tary; Mrs. Mary AVheeler, treasurer. The various reports given showed an active year's work, Including interest ing programs furnished by members of the university fuculty, students, and alliance members. At last Tuesday's meeting the alliance completed plans for a congregational supper to be given next Tuesday evening, May 12, nt six o'clock in tho church parlors. The 'Supper will be given preceding tho church aunual meeting to both ot which alliance members nnd the church congregation are expected to be present. The annual convention of the Ore gon State Federation of Women's clubs is an event of wide interest to many Eugene club women each year. The convention for this year ia to be held in Marshfield, June 1, 2 and 3. Tho Ktigeno Fortnightly club is the first Eugene affiliated group to se lect its delegates. Those who have been chosen to attend the convention are Mrs. E. F. Carleton, president of the club. Mrs. Blnine Hovey, and Mrs. Frank Fay Eddy, with Mrs. W. F.
