Work on the erection of three piling
bridges ou the Ferguson road and four
bridges on the Alvadore road is undei
way by the couuty road crews, accord

Fathers and mothers of I'niyersity
of Oregon students are guests this
week-end on the campus. Hundreds
of parents arrived on trains today
in response to the message of wel
come sent out this week, and the, en
tire student body is directing its ef
forts to thetr entertainment.
This afternoon, the dads enjoyed a
track meet at 2 o'clock, followed by
a baseball game. Mothers were en
tertained by the Women's league with
a formal tea in the woman's building
from ii to 5. The receiving line was
in alumni hall, a'nd tea was served
in th sun parlor. 5irs. Virginia

and new council member were host
esses, Mu I hi Fpsilon and Phi M Alpha,
national musical fraternities, are
sponsoring the vesper services to
morrow afternoon for the toothers and
fathers. The service which start
at 4 p. m, in the auditorium of the
school of music, will be over by ft
o'clock so as to enable parents to take
the t? o'clock train back to Portland.
