Barbre, pioneer of 1M7, ho for half a century was a resident of Lane county, passed away Thursday, April 2, after an Ill ness of two weeks at the home of her daughter and aon-in-law, Mr. and .Mrs. Henry Hanna at Baker, Oregon, it waa announced today. She was bO years, 8 months aud days old. Mrs. Barbre la survived by a sister, .Mra. Martha E. Morgan. 833 Alder street, and six children, aa follows: Joseph Irvin Hunsaker, Junction City; Mrs. Minnie Vogeli, Talent; Mrs. Louvilla Hanna. Baker; Mrs. Alma Handsaker. Alhambra, Cel.; Mrs. Clyde Jinks, Fresno, Cel.; Earl Bar bre. San Jose, Cal. Mrs. Barbre was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth Hunsaker of Platte county. Mo., and was born July 10, In 1847 she came to Oregon with her parenta by ox train, mid settled in Marion county 12 miles from Salem. There were 21 wagons in their caravan. In 1S33 she was married to Thomas Barbre. The couple located their home on a dona tion land claim in Ixis Valley 2D miles from Eugene, which was their home for approximately 48 years. The funeral services nnd interment are being held in Baker. Canton Hovey will meet tonight at 7:30 for a practice drill to prepare for the Saturday night session at which the Decoration of Chivalry, the highest decoration for women in the I. O. O.
