The con troversy among army and navy of f i cers over the value of aircraft took on new ramifications today when I Representative Perkins, republican, of New Jersey announced that three ; navy officers had requested the house ! aircraft committee not to summon . them because they could not give their j' honest views for fear of being dis-1 ciplincd. On the army side, the row already has said in a request from Secretary Weeks that Brigadier General Mit chell, assistant chief of the iur serv ice, explain certain statements 'he made to committees in congress in support of increased aviation facili ties. tf General Mitchell declared that cer tain officers were afraid to 'tell the truth" about aircraft through a fear of beiug disciplined, "indirectly" through transfer to less favored posts. Representative Perkins would not reveal the names of the navy officers who asked not to be summoned, but he, said that one of them liad declared if he testified what he believed "well, Guam is a long distance away." He said the request had come to him as chief examiner of the aircraft committee. He also declared it would be an "outrage" should General Mit chell fail of reappointment as assist ant chief of the air service, and thus automatically revert to the rank of colonel. Pending his reply to Secre tary Weeks' request for information about his testimony, a decision of the generul's reappointment is held in abeyance. "I propose if possible," Mr. Per kins added, "to determine to what ex tent terrorizatipn prevents officers from telling the truth to congress." Wo are advised to drew warmly, ! keep thn feet dry, avoid exposure, and above all drink plenty of good water and avoid eating sweets of all kind. j Kheumatism is caused by body! waste and acids resulting from food j fermentation. It is the function of the kidneys to filter this poison from the blood and cast it out iu tbe urine; the pores of the skin are also a menus of freeing the blood of this impurity. In dump and chilly cold weather the skin pores are closed, thus f orchis the kidneys to do double work: they become weak and sluggish' and fail toj eliminate this waste and acids, which! keeps accumulating and circulating j through the system, eventually sett-f ling in the joints and muscles, caus ing stiffness, soreness and pain, called rheumatism. At tho first twllige of rheumatism got from any pharmacy about four , ounces, of Jad Salts; put a tablespoon ful in a glass of water and drink be fore breakfast each' morning for a week. This is helpful to neutralize acidity, remove waste matter, also to stimulate the kidneys, thns often rid ding the blood of rbeumntic poison. lad Stilts is inexpensive, and is made from the acid of grapes and lemon juice, combined with lit hio, and is used with excellent results' by thou sands of folks who arc subject to rheumatism.
