building a flume for hydro-electric
power plant on the McKenzie river. .

certified check, payable to the City
of Eugene, Oregon, for the sum of
$250 as guarantee of good faith.
A bond acceptable to the mayor
and city council of the city of Eugene,
Oregon, will be required for 30 per
cent of the contract price.

popular, and a Los Angeles man In

weeks. The Elks' convention has
closed and a great many of these will
'make this trip.
The road from California is said to
be quite good and the trip over the
mountains is not bad if the driver is
f xperlenced and keeps his machine in
good condition and under control, es
pecially his brake adjusted. A great
many cars, however, often meet with
