These men are M. E. Nelson, who Is considered the best sprinter in New England, and J. E. Ballard, one of the best-known milers in the East. Nelson is a consistent ten-seconds man and has won firsts In many meets throughout New England. He Is an old band at the running game and it is expected that he will be one of the strongest contestants in the sprints. It will be a matter of Inter est to see how he compares with the Washington State College sprinter of the same name, who will run for the Seattle Athletic Club. Ballard Is known as an excellent mile runner and he has made good in many Eastern meets.
