Q o o o irmu rAOt BECAUSE IT IS r , II ll - - ... u. . , i ri Unless It's a GOOD Store It Will NOT Pay To Advertise It! I iiless you know a person unless Hint person comes into jour life in some way you are not greatly coucerni d ulx.ul whether lie Is goo.! or bad, de sirable or objectionable. It's so uitli a store. The peo phi who never visit it care noth ing about it one way or the oth er. It doesn't exist for them. But when they are persuaded to patronize it when tliey come to turn the spotlight of their at tention on it when it comes to have a part In their lives, as some stores must have in all lives then It's different; then it does matter whether it strives to win confidence ; it does mat ter whether or not Its price con cessions are genuine, dependa ble. If It meets all tests that a good store must stand when it is advertised when it thus in cites the critical attention of the people then advertising will "make" the store. If it fails in most of the vital tilings if it proves, under the light of pub licity not to he much of a store, THKX ADVERTISING MILL XOT PAY for it will empha size the shortcomings as well it? merits. For these same reasons it Is generally assumed that the store which does not advertise is seeking to avoid close inspec tion and comparison, and that the store which does is court ing them.
