H. FRIENDLY Mayor Matlock is favorable to the plan of locating the new city hall on the quarter block bounded by Wil lamette and Fifth streets and the railroad ground, opposite the Griggs hotel property. Of course, this would depend largely upon the ability of the city xo purchase the property at a reasonable figure. The mayor's idea Is .that if the hall was loctated on the Fifth and Willamette corner the remainder of the prop artv mlirht ho vinrUpH tn rnnfnrniitv ! with Ihu Honit fr-rnitnris arirllnir ma terially to the appearance of the city by removing all the unsightly struc tures In that vicinity, and Eugene would undoubtedly be the most at tractive city In the we3t, viewed from Its passenger depot. It is certainly a plan worthy of serious considera tion. There has also been a suggestion made that when the question of city bonds Is submitted to a vote of the people In the near future, that sev eral proposed sites, with the cost of each, be placed on the ballot, so that the people may express their preference, merely for the guidance j of the committee having the matter j In hand. The best is Hood's Sarsaparilla. It is the best because it does-the most good. While it makes the blood pure, fresh and lively, it tones the stomach to bet ter d-festion, creates an appetite, stimu Iates the kidneys and liver, gives new brain, nerve and digestive strength. An unequaled list of cures 40,366 tes timonials in two years proves its merit. SarsatabS For Uiom who prefer medlfin.
