Total assessed valuation, $4. 915.933. Total population. 7964. Total number of school children. 2810. i Totul number of school districts, j 2- : Assessed valuutlon per capita. , 6I7.2. ! 13.340.364 of this valuation Is from the south portion of Lane coun-; ty Included within the boundaries of the new county. 11.485.569 Is from the northern) portion of Douglas county Included within the present boundaries of the proposed new county. The present state and county lavy is 12 mills, giving the proposed new county at the same rate a revenue of $58,991.20, 7.30 mills of this amount being county tax, or $36,033.78. for the proposed now county. Cost of county officers, fixed sal aries: Clerk, per annum $1200 Sheriff, per annum 1200 Treasurer, per annum 100 County Judge, per annum .... 600 Assessor, per annum 900 School superintendent 400 Total fixed salaries.. $4400 Two county commissioners at $3 per day each for actual time served. Coroner's salary paid by fees. The salaries of the above county officers are practically a duplicate of the Hood River county officers. The probable cost of officers' sal aries per year, Including commission er and coroner, will not exceed 45, 600.
