LUCAS The BUTCHER fHONEMAIN 620. COME TO 8TH & BLAIR .J HAS Big Pldtit At Cottage Grove Now Cutting Lumber Af ter Year's Idleness After more than one vear's Idle ness the big sawmill of 'the Brown Lumber Co. was started up on full time in Cottage Grove Wednesday morning with a force of forvt-fjve men, which force will be increased as the mill increases its output Since closing down In August of last year, this mill plant has been completely overhauled and Improv ed, much new modern machinery having been installed, including a new re-saw, edger, cut-off, live rol lers and other less Important ma chinery, giving the mill a daily ca pacity of SO.dflO feet of lumber. The mill pond which was recentlv cleaned out and enlarged is piled full of logs but was not yet filled with water. It Is being filled as fast as the supply will admit. This Inconvenience forces the use of a donkey engine temporarily with which logs are dragged to the shute, but as soon as the pond is filled with water the donkey mav be dispensed with. A fine grade of milling timber is being logged at Rocky Point and Disston, on Row river for this mill and is being de livered daily over the branch rail road, the O. & S. E. to the mil. At present the mill Is running on a big order for the Southern California oil fields. Including the big walking beams used In the old wells. We are Informed by Super intendent White 8h.it there are or ders ahead to keep che mill running steadily providing cars can be had to make the deliveries. Cottage Grove Leader. WOULD GIVE $1000 CASH If the public could be convinced that the best bargains in real estate ever offered in or about Kugene are in City View Park, because If the situa tion were actually understood by every person in the county there would not be one acre of this beauti ful property left unsold in the next 24 hours after this knowledge wns brought to their attention. I am selling acre tracts at $50 to $150 per acre, which are intrinsically worth $500 to $1500 per acre. If you take into consideration the three elements that go to make up values In all pro gressive cities of the world protec tion from shabby surroundings, good outlook, accessibility. The only difference Is, the $1500 property has been advertised until ' 1'-uimb nave ienrnM of "s good qualities, while Oitv View ftrk has Just been pat upon the market and imt fw persons Slav as ,-., loinied of Its attraction. Our l.'nlidltii ro smctiotis absolute! jsnmvs vostr in vestment from cheap and sliai.hv rotindings and thus suaramee 'ranhl ncrease In valu.-s. The outlook is he best afforded hv ,mv ni,nrh property anywhere between Portland and San Kranciseo. With the open ing of West 11th street, Citv View Park will be within six minutes ride from the first N'srkma Bank. Citv View Park is just as near the busi ness center of Eugene as is Hendricks Park, where unimproved land sells at $500 to $1500 per acre. It Is my business to tell you of these facts. It is your business to Investi gate and learn these truths before you buy. GEO. MKL.VIX M1LLEK. Kootu 2(3, .McCHiug Bid's. Phone Red 1461. Bn 4- CHITICH XOTH'KS Methodist Kplsropal Church Delmnr H.
