Coos. Currv, Grant H ir ney, Malheur, fmatilla. Vnioii and Wallowa counties. In Cocs and Cur ry the open season for buck deer 's from July 15 to October 1.1. Those may be hunted d'urinc this time except In llaker. Coos. c,.Tv Orant, Harney. Malheur, fnia'illa' I'nion and Wallowa counties. The open seaso.i for elk is between September 11, and October U, and only one may be shot hy any hunter in a season. Chlnn pheasants, native pheasants, quail and grouse may he shot be tween October 13 and November 30. In Clatsop, Curry, Coos. Josephine, and Tlllamcok, however, the season for those birds opens September 11 and closes November 'i'K Line grouse may be shot in Tillamook county trom August 1 to October 15, east of the Cascade nicmtains the open season extends tro:n Aug ust 15 ;o November 30 Prairie chickens may be hunted in Wasco county f-oni August 1 to October 15. The open season for the sage hen east of the Cascades is from August 11 to November 30. Duck.i. $039 and swan m iv be shot, except In Coos and Lake counties, from Septemoer 1 to .lamia".' 31. Water quail pnd upland plovi-r may be hunted fiom August 1 to Decem ber 31. The bag limit for ducks is 10 In one week, for upland birds ten In one day, while for geese and swan there is ho limit. The silver gray squirrel may he hunted only between October 1 nnd December 31. It Is always unlawful to offer for sale, barter, exchange or ship be yond the boundaries of the state of Oregon, any deer, moose, mountain sheep, elk, silver gray squirrel, swan prairie checken, grouse and all kinds of upland birds and ducks. It is unlawful to hunt without a license, to kill a beaver or spotted fawn or to run deer with dogs. Night-hunting is also prohibited under the Ore gon law. China pheasant may not be killed In Jackson county at any time. Fe male deer may not be killed in Coos and Curry counties. It is against the law to kill quail or Mongolian phea sants east of the summit of the Cas cades until January 1, 1S09. It is also unlawful to trap or destry the nests of protected game birds. Shoot ing on enclosed lands without per mission is unlawful, as Is also the shipment or sale of deer skins un less they are taggrt. Tags may be obtained of any justice of the peace or of the countv clerk. A hunter's license Is good any where in Oregon and a hunter must have a license with him while hunt ing. The fine for transporting, game outside the state, and f:ir its 'sale is from tl to $100 and Imprisonment. Violation of the game laws calls for a fine of from $1.1 to $100 and hunting without a license is punish able upon conviction by a fine of from $21 to $.ino and Imprisonment upon the discretion of the court.
