D, Townsend, spec lal assistant to the attorney-general, who has been at work gathering evi dence and presenting the facts before congress for more than a year. The roof will be put on the Y. M. C. A. building the last of this week, and work on the "wing" of Agricultural hall Is now up to the second floor. C. T. Hurd has resigned as general secretary of the V. M. Cr A. and Is now superintending the building of the Y. M. C. A. hall. Another gen eral secretary will arrive September 1st. The college library :has been re moved to the second floor of the Ad ministration building, where it will occupy the entire serond floor. Mrs. Kidder, the new librarian, with a corps of assistaonts. has been engag ed In establishing the library In the new quarters. At this meeting the league s season was declared closed with the chain pion Woodburn team as entitled to the pennant. It is the intention to play a few post-season games.
