Journal. NEW YORK YAGHT CLDBIh ANNUAL CRUISE MEDICAL CONGRESS MEETS AT G AUTEM ALA Otiiitemnla City, Aug. 6. With an attendance representing nearly all the countries from Canada to Argen tina, the Pan-American Medlcan Con gress has assembled here for what promises to be the most notable ses sion held since Its organization five years ago. The United States and Mexico nre particularly well repre sented at the gathering. Moth the army and navy of the United States are represented by prominent mem bers of their medical departments, and the American Medical Associa tion and several other organizations of physldanB, surgeons and public health officers have sent delegates. The proceedings of the congress will occupy a week, and will include pa pers and discussions covering a wide range of topics relating to the public health and the practice of medicine. The treatment and prevention of tu berculosis wll be exhaustively dis cussed. Sanitation, the prevention of the spread of contagious diseases, the medical services In tho army and navy and the best methods of compiling vital statistics are among other mat ters that will receive attention. The government of Guatemala has made ample provision for the entertain ment and accommodation of the dele gates to the congress during their stay In the capital. 1)11. J.
