The most beautiful part of the evening's entertainment, waa "n Kln caid field from the time the long string of students fired the Roman candles until before the body of men closed in to listen to the speech-making. From a line 200 yards long three hundred of the candles flared Into the heavens. Immediately af terward plnwhecls burst from the same line, showering sparka'like 200 newly broken electric circuits. In tho bleachers the band played "Amer ica," the girls in the grand stand keeping time to the music by waving their glowing lanterns. As the bon fire burst a hundred feet into the air the whole sawdust field seemed more wiord to the onlookers, but as the whole body of people, perhaps 2000, with hats off, sung the wonderful patriotic, song that has stirred so many millions, a still deeper feeling of thanks and reverence pervaded the whole, gutherlnii.
