VIOLIX RECITAL LAST XIGHT DREW LARGE AUDIENCE A large audience was attracted to Villard hall last night by the recital of LeRoy Gesner's violin pupils, as sisted by a number of the- piano and voice pupils of Mrs. Schuecker and Mrs. Pone. The program was inter esting all the way through and each number was heartily applauded. Mr. Gesner's pupils who appeared were Buford Roach, Miss Camllle Taylor, C. K. Lyans, Miss Lucille Abrams and Miss Mary DeBar. Their work indi cated that their instructor has taken great pains with them. Mrs. Schuecker's pupils who assisted were Misses Errie Mc.Callum, Josephine Jensen, Adele Goff and Jessls Ferris, whose work was especially pleasing. Peter Weaver, an old man residing at Pleasant Hill, und thought to be mentally unbalanced, is wanted by the authorities, a charge of insanity having been brought against him to day. . Weaver arrived in Eugene last night on tho train rrom the north. He acted In a strange manner on the streets and lett-a large number ot letters about the, city addressed to various persons, one or two or them being for J. R. Sellers, and or a threatening nature. That money for the construction -af the Eagls Val ley Railroad has been secured and that work will begin July 1, is the announcement made today on the ar rival here of A. B, Jacobs, of Cincin nati. Jucbos represents the promot ers of the enterprise, nnd he an nounced today that he is h9re to file deed3 and mortgages so that bonds may be issued for Immediate con struction of the road.
