PROCLAMATION Whereas, there was submitted to the people of the city oT Eugene, Oregon, at a special election for that purpose on the ISth day of April, 1908, an Initiative proposal after be ing ordained by the Common Coun cil, pursuant to nnd in accordance with the general laws of the state of Oregon, for amending sections 108' and 112 of the charter of said city, and whereas there wras at the same manner submitted to the people of said city for their approval or re jection an Initiative proposal to amend the charter of said city by add ing a section thereto forbidding the establishment of cemeteries or addi tions thereto within the city, or the burial or human bodies therein, ex cept under certain conditions, and Whereas, the votes' cast at said election having been this 20th day of April, 1908, duly canvassed and determined and the said amendment of said sections 108 and 112 as afore said having carried by an affirmative vote of 667 as against 171 negative votes tnereon. Now, therefore, I, J. D. Matlock, mayor of said city of Eugene, by vlr. tue of the authority vested in me as mayor, do hereby proclaim, announce and declare that the whole number or votes cast for and against said proposed amendments are as stated above, and that said amendments re ceived an affirmative majority lot all votes cast and that said proposed amendments, from the date hereof. be and the same are In full force and effect as a law of the city of Eugene. ana a part or the charter of said city.
