This Is tne steenin ume that the water works bonds have I been voted upon, but each time be I fore the election has been Illegal or something of the sort, and It was thought best to submit the proposi tion again in the proper torm ana in accordance with the law. The vdte is not very heavy, although there Is considerable Interest taken In the election. It is freelv predicted that the vote will be In favor of the purchase of the water plant. It Is almost certain that the $300,000 bonds will be vot ed and from present appearances the amendment to the charter restricting burials will carry. The propositions as stated on the ballot are as follws. For amending Sections 108 and 112 of the city charter of the city of EuEene by striking out authority to iBstie $1 00,000 of electric light bonds, and $75,000 of gas light bonds, and I Increasing the issuable water bonds from $100,000 to $300,000; fixing the character and manner of isue of said bonds, and the disposition of wa ter revenues; authorizing condemna tion proceedings in building water plant; and providing for water board and fixing its duties. Vote ves or no. For amending the etty charter by adding a section forbidding the estab lishing of cemeteries or additions thereto within the city: or the bur ial of human bodies within the city limits except that the members of families may be interred In family lots where burials have already ta ken place. Vote yes or no. Proposition to purchase for the sum of $140,000 the water plant and property of the Willamette Valley Company according to offer of com pany filed on the office of the city recorder March 21, 1908.
