mine whether or not the city shall
purchase the water works property
of the Willamette Valley Company
and to determine whether or not me
further burial of bodies within the
corporate limits of the city shall be

that the water works bonds have
I been voted upon, but each time be
I fore the election has been Illegal or
something of the sort, and It was
thought best to submit the proposi
tion again in the proper torm ana in
accordance with the law. The vdte is
not very heavy, although there Is
considerable Interest taken In the
election.
It is freelv predicted that the vote
will be In favor of the purchase of
the water plant. It Is almost certain
that the $300,000 bonds will be vot
ed and from present appearances the
amendment to the charter restricting
burials will carry.
The propositions as stated on the
ballot are as follws.
For amending Sections 108 and
112 of the city charter of the city of
EuEene by striking out authority to
iBstie $1 00,000 of electric light bonds,
and $75,000 of gas light bonds, and
I Increasing the issuable water bonds
from $100,000 to $300,000; fixing
the character and manner of isue of
said bonds, and the disposition of wa
ter revenues; authorizing condemna
tion proceedings in building water
plant; and providing for water board
and fixing its duties.
Vote ves or no.
For amending the etty charter by
adding a section forbidding the estab
lishing of cemeteries or additions
thereto within the city: or the bur
ial of human bodies within the city
limits except that the members of
families may be interred In family
lots where burials have already ta
ken place.
Vote yes or no.
