JFOR SEASON Whrte ih baseball schedule na not been approved by the athletic committee, it has been practically completed and will probably be ac cepted as It -Is. The first collegiate game will be on April 13. Up to that time only practice games with the town and high school teams and perhaps other nearby teams will be played. The season will probably begin with two games against Whitman at Eugene, April 13 and 14. At the first of the season no game was ex pected with them as they did not contemplate a trip In this direction. Manager Mount has received a let ter asking for games on the dates mentioned, and they will probably hp played. On April 18 there will be a game with Multnomah at Portland and during. the following week, which will be In the spring vacation, they will make a trip through the valley playing different, high school and am ateur teams. There will be games with Willamette May 2, Multnomah May 9, two with Pullman on the 15th and 16th, and with O. A. C. on the 23d. All these games will be played In Eugene. The northern trip will begin with a garde anainst Wlllaiimtte at Salem, May 27, then Olympla high school at Olympla the 2Kth, with Lincoln high at Seattle the 29th, and on the morn ing of the 30th with the (University of Washington at Seattle, going over to Tacoma in the afternoon to piny Whltworth College. The last game of the senson will be against O. A. C. at Corvallis on June 6. The team so far has shown far bet ter than any for several years and with consistent playing should annex the championship banner for the Uni versity. FOUR KILLED AND ... TWENTY INJURED Lexington, March 24. Four were killed and twenty Injured in a wreck of a passenger train between Bur- gin and Highbrldge early today on the Queen & Crescent railroad, caus ed by the collision of a passenger and freight trains. The freight Is said to have proceeled without or ders, the night operator having been laid off. .. Robbers broke into the depot here last night, drilled into the safe after knocking off the combination knob, Inserts an explosive and blew off the outer door 'of the Bafe. They can both afford to step high now. i There were a number of people present at the flagpole raising at the Red Oak school Friday. Charles Gil son, of Elmlra; came down. I won der what the attraction was? Elmlra seems to be on the boom this winter. According to the El mlra notes there have been at least four new families moved In during the past six months and now they are building a. hotel. Hurrah for Elmlra. The men who have been trapping for coyotes have not had much en couragement so far. Several of the farmers are' shear ing Roats at present during this good weather.
