thBKt'ORSEDAlLVflWnD, MOJfhAV, HimfAilY It, W J OBSTINATE ULCERS MAY LEAD TO CANCER There la no dii-'erence, at first, in the appearance of cancerona and a common ulcer, and for thia reason every aore that ia obstinate or alow in healing should excite suspicion, for the sore ia nothing more than the exter nal evidence of a polluted blood, and if allowed to remain may deKtnerate Into Cancer. Efforts to heal the ulcer by means of salves, piasters and other external remedies alwaya result in failure.because such treatment can have no possible effect on the blood, where the deadly (ferma and morbid matter form, and are carried throuRh the circulation to the place. No aore or ulcer can exist without a predisposing Internal cause, and the open, diacbarginjf ulcer or festering old sore will continue to eat deeper into the surrounding flesh aa long as a polluted, germ-infected circulation discharges its impur ities into it. S. S. S. goes to the fountain-head of the trouble, and drives out the germ-producing poisons and morbid impurities which keep the tilrtr onen. Then as thia rich, purified blood goes to the diseased place the healing begins, J all discharge ceases, the inflammation grad- I ually leaves, new tissue ana neauny nesu are formed, and soon the aore ia perma . nently cured. S. S. S. ia made entirely of roots and herbs of a healing, cleansing nature, and unlike mineral medicines. which often do great damage to the delicate parts of the system, 8. S. The play was notable for Its splen did scenic effects, being staged with a lavlsbneu designed to please tho eye, and In this respect It was all that could be dunked. Happily, in the United States, thei tlmo litis come when every man,! guarded In the sacred cloister of his voting booth, as he casts IiIb eye, over an untrammelled ballot, sees well photographed thereon the lm-; ages of each Individual member of; his family or himself, and the voice: of that ballot, happily, Is to be, no I lunger the voice of the low political j ti ui iwiy uii:iiilui, w mjmauevei , biivu that exulted dictator, an aroused conscience, speaking, tho voters aroused coiihcIoiihiiuss of li Is relation to his fellowman. It Is to be the vol of brother calling unto brother, and In echoing tones, shall con summate tho joining of the hands of common men in the common cause of duty, and Intelligent right, the glory of manhood asserting Itself. The age of Intelligent freedom among common men has dawned, it has been a Uryan, a Tolstoi, a Hooso velt, a John Mitchell, a Folk, a Hums, who have each In their turn and in their own peciillnr way, by nntliing effort, callod tho sleeping victims of plutocratic vlco, from tho luthurglc grasp of an Indolent sleep, and aided by a willing and progres slvo pulpit in America have pointed the world to Its higher duty. Minos commanded that tho laws be written by each Individual house holder, upon the corner posts of his house, that the laws of morality and virtue, should bo established, and be come the law of evil policy, and It was sn. W e have a peerless leader, The amount of work that Charles B. Hanford puta Into each season's production has been frequently com mented on with wondering admira tion. Before Norrls & Rowe en tered into the agreement they gave (he Biibject great thought. It has been their aim always to give the pub lie a clean, moral, refined per formance, and that they succeeded In this is best illustrated by their past success. Wishing to give the public more for Its money each year has been a constant problem that they have worked on Incessantly. When the powers that be of the big combine approached Norrls & Rowe and invited them to participate In the benefits to be derived from the un ion, they gave tho matter further consideration. After so doing they saw a way clear in the saving of vast sums of money that had been wasted in useless warfare for territory, and In various other ways to Increase In size, and In the general excellence of their entertainment. By tho agreement-entered Into the Barnuin & Bai ley circus will make the New Eng land states: the Sells-Forpaugh cir cus has been retired from service al together; the Rlngllng Brothers will make the Middle West ana southern states and the Greater Norrls & Rowe circus has been given the territory west of the Rockies. There will be but one of the circuses in the trust to visit any section of the country any given year. This applies only to the big circuses, any one of the little one-horse affairs may go where they please. The trust has a special rep resentative In each of the big cities of Europe looking for the the big. sensational acts, securing the strang est freaks, and the most expensive rare animals. These acts and novel ties are equally distributed among the three big circuses to the agree ment, an advantage that heretofore has not been possible. The Greater Norrls & Rowe circus hps been en larged to such, an extent this year that it Is now on a par with the othiv big shows in the combin3. and will hereafter be one of the "'big three." Their engagement In San Francisco this winter extended over a month, and was the most successful ever played by a tented exhibition in the history of the West. The entire press of the city wero unanimous In pro claiming It to be the best circus ever seen In that city. In the representation of that marvel ous poem-pageant, Antony and Cleo patra. In selecting this play, Mr. Hanford carries out a definite scheme of chronology. His production of Julius Casear last year told the story of Antony the orator and warrior. This, season will reveal htm as the lovor. Ill Antony and Cleopatra Miss Wilson Is cast as Cleopatra, a role whose possibilities are limitless. The constant play of emotion In this strange revelation of complex possi bilities of a woman's nature calls for the utmost powers that an ac tress can command. As tender In her devotion as Juliet, as winsome whon sho so wills to be as Viola, as vivacious ot mind as BcBtrlre, she Is as terrible, when roused to tragic determination as Lady Macbeth. An tony Is far from being the consistent hero that strict moral standards would demand. Indeed, the major ity of Shakespeare's most prominent characters would scarcely pass mus ter as Invariable examples of youth. But Antony la nevertheless a great man, one who Is worshipped by his friends, feared by his foes. The passion which warped his career DIED.
