ALDERMAN Ol KNTIO.VH Eugene, Feb. I I, 1H08. Mr. Editor: 1 would like to ask Professor Alderman If he thinks a woman should not pay 13 a year out of her own money for her own lints, but should donate a part, or all of that amount to educate at a high school tho child of some one else? I will not raise any argument as to whether a man has a right to spend any portion of his own money for to bacco or liquor. I would like to sug gest, however, that a person does not appreciate very highly that which costa them nothing, and reucat the homely old saying that "every tub anould stand on Its own bottom." Take the high school students as a rule and they need to be taught some, thing that does not seem to be In cluded In their curriculum. If t h y have to earn their own way through high school their education will do them more good and they will have l s of the "Smart Alec" about tlieni than If the taxpayers are further bur dened to pay It for them.
