cap to school.
This morning I went out In our
flower garden, and I picked the
sweetest bouquet of violets and took

the depot to tho University, but they
are going to connect lines with Port
land and Salem and Beveral other

Mr. Editor: 1 would like to ask
Professor Alderman If he thinks a
woman should not pay 13 a year out
of her own money for her own lints,
but should donate a part, or all of
that amount to educate at a high
school tho child of some one else? I
will not raise any argument as to
whether a man has a right to spend
any portion of his own money for to
bacco or liquor. I would like to sug
gest, however, that a person does not
appreciate very highly that which
costa them nothing, and reucat the
homely old saying that "every tub
anould stand on Its own bottom."
Take the high school students as a
rule and they need to be taught some,
thing that does not seem to be In
cluded In their curriculum. If t h y
have to earn their own way through
high school their education will do
them more good and they will have
