The total assessed valuation of prop erty 'In the city of Eugene, as fixed by Assessor Keeney this year. Is $3, 513,487, which Is an increase of $12fi,377 over 1S0G and an Increase j of St,K.r,9,7!l2 over liMir.. The val uation in the school district, which Is No. 4, this year Is $3,72S.nx. en increase over UKiS of $123,795,! nnd over 1!M5 of St. 704. 340. ! "The 1907 assessed valuation in! The reason for the big increase made In lltnfl over the previous year was the policy lnatigur:ited by Asses sor Keeney to assess all property as near Its real value as possible, in stead of about one-half Its value, which had been the custom before. The Increase this year over 190fi Is due to the extensive Improvements In the city and the Increase In popula tion. The totals for other municipalities nnd school districts In the county have not yet been footed up hut the work will be completed soon.
