Be Known as the Fourth Ma-! jor Yoran May Be Colonel : Prospects are now bright for the ' establishment in the near future of ft j new regiment of the Oregon National Guard, to be known as the Fourth, with headquarters at Eugene. The new regiment will comprise Companies A and C, of Eugene, Co. B at Roseburg, Co. D at Ashland, and four new companies to be organ ized at as many cities In the western : part of the Btate. At present there Is one full regi ment, the Third, and two separate battalions In the state, the Eugene companies bolonglng to the First Separate Battullon. v The Guard learns from a reliable source that the new regiment Is .al most a certainty, and that it will be established during tlie coming spring or summer.
