Easy of Access and Believed to Be Rich in Resources Capital Will Be Soon Attracted. The records of the mining location constantly being made in tho Fall Creek district indicate that there is a strong belief among mining men that that district has a golden future. Dozens of claims have beon taken up iu that locality during the past year and hardly a week passes by but new ouoa are . being enoterd on tho records of the county clerk of Lane county. The reasons for this quiot uctivity among thoso looking for good mining claims aro said to be simply on uc count of tho promising features about tho district from a gold-bearing standpoint. Full Creek is Bituated about 10 miles east of Eugcno, is ousy of access by fairly good rouds aud has a considerable supply of water from which power could easily be developed. Piospectors have trav ersed its surface over aud plenty of Indications have been found ub to the gold-producing oharactor of the regiou. Experts have examined the creek aud give as their opinion that Fall Creek is as valuable in gold de posits as other localities which have been under development for the past teu years and more. DEVELOPMENT WILL COME. There has been no development, beyond a casual prospecting aud a little placer work, done iu tho Fall Creek region. Tho locality awuits the recognition and "discovery" which always comes to tho worthy mining district. Men who have claims in the Fall Creek country, aud they number near ono hundred, ox poo t good capital to bo attracted to tholr holdings, sooner or later. Local capital is declared to be too conservative for risk iu developing mines and Is ovcu charry about luvoHt meut iu tho well knowu 11 1 110 Rivor and llohemla properties. Hut the t i 111 0 will come, so the claim-holders doclare, when tho needed money for a big establishment iu Fall Creek for tho development of mines which will turn out tho golden niotnl. From tho activity in taking up locations iu that district tills time onnuot be very far off. Deserved Promotion. Horace Mot'lure, a former Eugene hoy, and a graduate of the U. Is It Too Dry? Whi le rain is not wanted by tho farmers ou account of the threshing going on about the county at the present time, fruit growers are wish ing that a littlo extra moisture would happen their way. Pasture is also short and stockmen complain that tho rain has been insufficient for the year. Stock as a result aro in quite poor condition. The past month has shown a lack of rain that is uuusual at least. A change is looked for. Considerable apprehousiou is felt by hop men that the rain will set in at picking time and continue too long.
