Boat Capsized on Siuslaw Bar Men Belonged to Schooner Prinn, of San Francisco. Nbvpout, Aug. 11. The steamer Robai Is, whioh arrived here last even ing, nporta the drowning of two men on rHuslaw bar yesterday morning. Captain Hansen, of the schooner Liz zie Prinn, which recently arrived at that place to load lumber (or Ban Franolsoo, had taken ou bis cargo and was ready for sea, but apparently no' satisfied with the depth of water re ported on the bar by the lug Kobarta, went out to lake soundings himself in a small boat, with two of his sailors. While op the bar a breaker capsized their boat and the two sailors were drowned. Captain Hansen succeeded In clinging to the upturned boat and drilled ashore. The names of the lost men were not known. Bryan's Populist Notification. Topeka, Kan, Aug 12.-Kama populists and democrats are combining to make Bryan's populist notification at Topeka on August 28 one ol the bluest political events that has ever taken place In Kansas. Besides the Hon T M Patterson, who will make the notification speech, it is stated that Webster Davis and J B Weaver will address the orowds. A few days ago, Hnnwdle, a Piute Indian of this county, committed suicide by eating wild parsnips. Last week, his clillil, a 14-year-old girl, on account of bud health, ended her life In the same way.
