Dr Candianl thinks that Blun River City will make a town of good proportions in the next few years. He says the power to run the mines in less than Ave years will all be transmitted from that city In less than two years. He thinks, when the water power of that place Is developed It will be neatly unlimited, as the McKenzle and Blue rivers caa nearly all be brought to this point. TEACHERS' EXAMINATION. The regular examination for teachers certificates commenced today In charge of Superintendent W M Miller, and Examiners Miss Augusta Patterson and Jj L Harwbod. The class num bers 49, seven being applicants for Btate papers and the others for county certificates. There are seven malea and 42 females. Superintendent Miller I" well pleafed with the claw, and thinks It one of the best to come before him since taking the office over two yean ago. At least one good feature of the class Is the fact that no 10-year-old youngsters are seen, but those who appear capable of becom ing really good and competent teachers. New Oregon Postmaster. The fight was probably continued at Yand Tsin. BLUE RIVER j. E. Blazier Haying a Stamp Mill Hauled In, THE ROAD QUESTION OF INTEREST. J E Blazier, of Portland, was down from bis Blue River property today on business and will return there tomor row. Mr Blazier has the machinery for a two-stamp mill at Springfield, and is having It hauled to the camp. He will at once place It In position and begin grinding ore. In conversation with a Guard re porter thlB morning Mr Blazier ex pressed great oonfldenoe In the future of Blue Blver as a mining camp, and Is anxlons to see enough mills started on various properties to take the dis trict out of the experimental stage. This will be done, Mr Blazier stales, hy the first of the year. Aside from the Lucky Boy mill, which Is now doing effective work satisfactory tolls owners, Dr Candianl, Ponnay Bros Davis, Wagner A, MeD7.es and Mr Blazier will have mills In operation by that lime. Regarding the prospect work being done on various claims of the camp, Mr Blazier says It is more than satis factory. Ore can be milled at Blue Blver very cheaply, and if the assays made at various stages of tunnel work are any Indication, and the mills do their work, be thinks there is no reason why all these various properties should not be put on a good dividend paying basis. In other words, the camp should at once be placed on the per manent list. Mr Blazier returns to attend to the setting up of the mill and will proba bly be in the camp for the next three months. If bis hopes are realized by the operation of the mill Mr Blazier will add mora stamps and enlarge the l output of the mine. Several days after wards Lee, myself and somebody else searched for Camp Creek preolnot tally heel and I found it; we also looked for Uleiitoiiu prectuot tally sheet but did not Mud It. I noticed Richardson and Camp Creek preolncts envelopes holding bal lots unsealed; They looked as if they had not been propei ly sealed and tore awny themselves. Mr Lee was present at all times when I had anything to do with the matter. When I first saw the Camp Creek returns the letter was un sealed and the tally Bbeet was gone' Roy Knox opened the box. Don't know bow tbe ballot became unsealed. I wanted (hem to count Lost Vallsy before going borne as there had been a dispute as to how that preoluct bad gone on county judge. Attorney E R Skipworth now object ed to the counting of the ballots, as they bad been Improperly kept by the olerk; therefore the tally sheet should be counted. The clerk kept them like a pile of old newspapers. At the time of going to press the at torneys were arguing the above point, Kcv Elworthy Promoted. Sunday's Oreonlau contained picture of, aud the following write-up of Rev Elworthy , formerly of Lebanon: Rev H D Elworthy, D D, who has been appointed to take charge of the Buunyelde Methodist church, from which the former pastor, Dr Starr, was suspended, arrived yesterday with his family and has occupied the par snnage, on East Morrison aud East Thirty-fifth streets, Eunnyelde. Dr Elworthy was selected to meet the peculiar conditions at the Sunnyside church, the congregation having been torn up by several church trials, one of whioh resulted In the deposing of the regular pastor, and the withdrawal of a few members.
