The quarrel between Simon and Hanna, the statement of the latter that he regarded Simon, Corbett and the Oregonlan aa the trouble breeders in' Oregon Republican politics is now a matter of history. A very olose friend of former Senator Mitohell states that the latter is opposed to any compromise with Simon. His friends will ask for a oauous of the Republican members of the legislature and will state that they went into otuone and abided by its deoision when Simon was elected. Fulton, of coome, would lie the gubernatorial nominee but, if Mitchell should duly Simon and win out, Fulton would be sluted for the other seiiaturship two years hence. Albany Herald, July 1: Ben jamin It Holt died at bis home in Harrisburtf, June 29, 1000, and will be buried in the family bury ing ground in tbe Lewis cemetery, about 10 miles east of Harrisburg, this Sunday afternoon. Mr Holt was one of the earl; pioneers of Linn county and was one ot her substantial citizens. He came here and took np a donation olaim which he owned at tbe time of his death, as well as considerable other property.
