In regard to the missing (ilen tana preoinot election returns the Register does "not understand why the sheriff or his doputy did not go after the sheet in person," When the tally sheet of Olentena preoinot was found missing Judge Potter at ihe request of the canvassing board wrote two letters to the Glentena preoinot election judges requesting that the dooument be forwarded by man at once, Those letters were signed by Sheriff Withers, at the requost of Judge Potter, and duly mailed, It wbb no more Sheriff Withers' business to go or send deputy to Glentena proolnot after the missing paper than of the Register editor, unless the county judge or some other competent authority Bhouid make such order. farther election judges have ten days time allowed them by law in which to make returns.
