"This l aqiiextion that is agitating the cigar dealers ju-t now and eaiihlng them considerable perturbation of spirit. "The only hope of cigar dealers lies in the alle ged Irregularity in the pas sage of ihe bill by the lioii e. The senate parsed Hie bill by a large ma jority, aud a duplicate of the hill was parsed by a similarly heavy vote in the houke. The reason the house could not get actlou on the original bill was that Representative Curtis ol Clatsop county, who had It referred to the printing committee, of which he is chairman, had the bill in his pocket and hliiihelf in Portland when it was called up. This bill was never report ed on by the committee, ai.d It was not believed that the cominlttex had any Intm. Hon of reporting on it. 'The house however, resented this disposition on the part of tlm com mittee to hold the bill buck, and when It was called up obtained u duplicate copy, with the proper indorsements from the senato. It was tills hill that was pnH-ed by t lie senate. It was this bill that was passed by the house, and is now In the hands of the governor awaiting his signature. "The question uow uriBes whether the house had a right to take action on a duplicate copy of the bill as long as the original was in existence, and no showing was made as to its loss. Tf the action of the duplicate bill Is held to be legal there Is every prospect that tuellll will btcnme aluw. Among the tens of thousands who have used this remedy for la grippe we have yet to learn of a single case having resulted in pneumonia winch shows conclusive ly that this remedy Is a certain pre ventive of that dangerous (Ibeuso.
