Tho Southern Pacific and the O R A N olllcials have "got together," and have decided to end the passenger war between Portland and Sun Francisco. The old rates, $12 foi cabin and $8 for steerage, on the steamer line, and (19 first class and $10 second-class on the railway will be restored on July 21. The reduced rates for several months have been $5 first class and $2.50 on the steamer, and $10 and $5, sleeping car accomodations Included, on the Southern Pacific special, which ran on steamer days. Thousands of people have taken advantage of these rates, as they found It was cheaper to travel than to stay at home. There will probably be a big rush of travel during the remaining days of low rates. There will be two more steamers and two more special trains each way betweeu Portland and Ban Francisco before July 21.
