eligibility to vote at Corvallis,
Monday. lie cautioned all the
students not to attempt to vote if
there was any question ot the legal
ity of the ballot they might east.

American citizen to assert his
patriotism by lifting his voice for
an honest ballot".
Wine advice. It fliould have
been given to tho young men of
tho University of Oregon. Wc are
informed that a number of the
students voted in the Eugene pre
cincts. Nearly all of them are
here for the sole purpose of attend
nig the university, have neither
gained or lost a rct-idencc, and
havo no moral or legal right to
cast a .ballot in Lane county

Candidates of all the parties in
Lano county are to be commended

years ago candidates were reckless

taken hy hand fulls from the boxes
without a thought of iho candidate,

the rabble was on hand but no
cigars or othor refreshments. The
precedent established should be
followed in future elections.
