RIBBONS. 60 Packages of Meat. McCor- nack & Bartsch, of the U of O meat market, today contributed 60 packages of meat to the Christmas donations collected by the school children for the poor. Each package contained 25 cents worth of meat, and will prove a substantial present. Messrs McCnr- nack & Bartsch decided to take tills plan of giving to the poor this year in stead of getting up an expensive ditplay. Tumor Removed. Dr L W Brown, assisted by Dr Billlngton, of this city, and Dr King, of Portland, tills morn ing performed a surgical operation re moving a tumor form the right breast of Mrs J H Harriss. The cancerous growth was large and almost all of the right breast was removed, extending in depth to the musics of the ribs.
