Today. Voted for Hume. The governor’s veto of the forest protection bill by Booth was not un looked for, since several of the provis ions ot thia measure were known to have not been in accordance with the chief executive's ideas of justice to the taxpayers of Oregon. While the appropriaition is made of 8W*, an- nuiilly, to carry out ihe provisioi a of the net , the bill authorizes tho crea tion of claims against the state which might reach the sum of 850.CW, per year. This would of course lie paid by a deficiency appropriation at each succeeding session of the legislature. Lane County people Jin attendance at the legislative assembly today are, .1. M.
