DRYING PRUNES Active Operations at tbe Allen Evaporator. UaUy Guard, Sept 14. The fruit evaporating plant at the Allen cauuery in this city has com menced active operations on tbe prune crop, the kllus being heated up this morning. For several days past French prune« have beeu arriving at the cannery in large quantities until there are great •tacks of them ready to dry. The first load of Italian« waa brought in ia this morning and from now on It 1« expected that they will be brought In steadily. W K Allen, manager of the com pany'« local plant, thia morning »aid the prune crop this year la the heaviest for several seasons. The prune« are of a good else and of excellent flavor and wbeu dried will command a good price. Extensive improvements have been made in the evaporating plant •Ince last wasoii.
